TBWCYL Day 175 - Strike Out!

So, I was supposed to go on strike at work yesterday but they were buying me lunch for a plant function so I didn't want to jeopardize my free Barbecue so instead, I went on strike from The Book.

What does that mean? Is it a cop out? Does this count?

Well, I will explain. On a daily basis I have been completing tasks that are demeaning, embarrassing, and sometimes difficult. They push me and make me think outside the box. They cause me to step outside my comfort zone. They are occasionally monotonous and even less occasionally they are enjoyable. If that isn't a parallel to a job then I don't know what is.

So, how do you strike against a book? You refuse to do what it says. So, I strike against you Mr. Book. You want me to go on strike at work but instead that idea backfired on you. Ha! How do you like me now Mr. Book? Not so high and mighty when I stand up for my rights and don't do what you say. In your cover!

I spent a lovely day working yesterday and got free brisket, beans, potatoes and a peach cobbler that is to die for. They bake a sugar crust on top that is reminiscent to a creme brule' in its consistency and as you bust through the top...I just started drooling.

I also did all of my tasks adequately and did not consider not working. No signs were made and no picket lines formed. The only scabs present were from that weird guy that works in the back that no one talks to.

After 174 days of oppression I finally got a chance to get back at you. Sure you took back over today but yesterday I rose up against you. One man can make a difference.

That is all,

Newt
